White-Faced Tree Duck (White-Faced Whistling Duck)

White-Faced Tree Ducks earn their name from their stark white face and crown. Dark plumage of chestnut, black, and brown create a lovely contrast with the light facial features . Their long bill and legs are slate gray. The male and female White-Faced Tree-Duck are similar in appearance, although the female is typically less bold in color. These ducks are personable and social. Mutual preening is an important bonding behavior, and they do so more than any other Tree Duck species. Like all Tree Ducks, they produce a unique musical whistle. The White-Faced Tree Duck is sure to be a dramatic addition to your collection.
