Mute Swans are large, beautiful birds with long, curves necks and elegant white plumage. They have an orange bill with a black base and a black knob. Swans are known to form lasting pair bonds that breed for life. They are a renowned symbol for love due to their monogamous relationships. Females lay 5 to 12 eggs. Incubation lasts around 36 to 38 days and is done mainly by the female. Once the chicks hatch, both parents look after the young.
