Nene (Hawaiian Goose)

The Nene—Hawaii’s state bird—is the world's rarest goose. Currently classified as an endangered species, Nenes are endemic to Hawaii, meaning they are not naturally found anywhere other than Hawaii. The Nene is a medium-sized goose with a black head and bill, buff cheeks, and a buff neck decorated with black and white diagonal stripes.
