Chiloe Wigeon

Chiloe Widgeons are small, attractive ducks. The male and female are similar in appearance, but the male has a slightly rounder, chunkier head, and the female is duller in color. Chiloe Widgeons have an attractively patterned black and white body, chestnut flanks, and a broad, iridescent green band that extends from the eye to the back of the neck. Their bills are gray with black tips, their legs and feet are dark gray, and their eyes are dark brown. Chiloe Widgeons breed well in captivity, and with proper care and protection from predators, they can live up to 20 years. They are highly social and quite friendly. This gorgeous little duck is sure to be a favorite in your waterfowl collection!
